Property & IoT - What is the future?

Thursday 6th June 2019

For the property industry, the IoT is revolutionising the role of property developers, managers and of course buyers and tenants, connecting these individuals to data insights generated from everyday routine activities.

IoT can gather and analyse data, providing new data-driven, performance-based insights to help managers identify trends and actions to better achieve tenant service goals in new ways.

Wireless sensors can monitor activities from HVAC, office lights, elevator use, electrical systems, car parking spaces. They can monitor for the presence of water and notify property managers so that damage can be minimised.

IoT can help leverage one infrastructure to home and operate all management solutions, requiring little to no manual involvement. At the portfolio level, this means enhanced tracking and monitoring combined with portfolio analytics resulting in more granular valuations, lower asset risk and augmented portfolio management capabilities.

Is IoT an enabler, impediment or just another gimmick ?

As the industry is revolutionised, how does this change the way our industry needs to prepare for the future?

How is the property industry pre-empting and responding to rapidly changing technology, and human demands?
