Graeme Samuel addressed a private boardroom lunch for 21 business leaders where he discussed the “ACCC’s Response to the Global Financial Crisis – Balancing Competition, Uncertainty and Corporate Crises”. This event was generously hosted by ANZ.
Part watchdog, part enforcer, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission needs to balance competing interests in a timely and efficient manner to encourage competition for the benefit of consumers and stakeholders.
Graeme Samuel is the Chairman of the ACCC. He is also an Associate Member of the Australian Communications and Media Authority. His professional career has spanned the law, investment banking and, since the early 1990s, a number of roles in the public service covering diverse interests including sport, the arts, health, business affairs and competition policy.
