Tony D’Aloisio addressed a boardroom lunch of 20 senior business executives where he discussed “Post GFC - understanding the key issues that have emerged and how ASIC is responding to them”. This event was proudly hosted by Russell Reynolds Associates.
ASIC is Australia’s corporate, markets and financial services regulator, contributing to Australia’s economic reputation and wellbeing by ensuring that Australia’s financial markets are fair and transparent, supported by confident and informed investors and consumers.
These have been challenging times for regulators and market participants. ASIC is now looking ahead to the recovery and the regulatory reform agenda.
Tony D’Aloisio was appointed ASIC Chairman in May 2007 for a four-year term, and was recently selected to lead the prestigious Joint Forum, a body which operates at the direction of the Basel Committee for Banking Supervision, the International Organisation of Securities Commissions and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors.
Prior to joining ASIC, Tony was CEO of the ASX and previously he was Chief Executive Partner at Mallesons Stephen Jaques. Tony has held a number of directorships and positions including Director, Boral; Director, Business Council of Australia; Member, Board of Taxation; Director, World Federation of Stock Exhanges; and Director, Australian Charities Fund.
