Nigel Dews, Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone Hutchison Australia, 26 August 2010
Nigel Dews addressed a CEO Boardroom event for 24 senior business executives where he discussed “What are the challenges & opportunities of being Australia’s third largest telco"? This CEO boardroom event was generously hosted by Clayton Utz and Salmat.
In June 2009, Vodafone Australia and 3 mobile merged businesses through a 50:50 joint venture between Vodafone Group and Hutchison 3G Australia, to form Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA).
VHA has created a much larger scale business that operates the Vodafone, 3 and Crazy Johns brands. VHA has over 7 million customers, revenues of approximately $4 billion, a market share of 27% and provides 3 and Vodafone customers with an even greater choice of affordable products and services.
Nigel Dews is Chief Executive Officer of VHA and, prior to this, was CEO of 3 Australia from January 2007.
Prior to joining 3, Nigel held senior management positions at Fairfax Media for more than seven years, focusing primarily on growing the digital side of the business and before that he was a senior consultant at McKinsey & Company, following time as an economist at the Reserve Bank of Australia.
