Alan Joyce, CEO of Jetstar was interviewed by Kylie Merritt of Sky Business News in front of over 350 people at the Westin Hotel, Sydney, as part of the Young Business Forum’s Annual Dinner which raised money in support of the Garvan Institute, kindly hosted by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Hostworks.
Jetstar has carried over 22 million customers. The carrier now has short haul operations to 20 Australian domestic destinations and to New Zealand and Singapore.
Jetstar was one of the first international long haul carriers and now operates long haul services to eight international destinations to the Asia Pacific, Japan and to the US (Hawaii). Jetstar delivered a profit before tax result of AUD $115 million for the 2006/2007 financial year.
The Annual Dinner also featured former Olympian and Commonwealth Games gymnast Brennon Dorwick who wowed the audience with his medal winning pommel horse performance, as well as the band, Glass.
