CFO BOARDROOM

Gareth Evans addressed a private boardroom event for 20 Chief Financial Officers where he discussed “The Qantas Agenda: The CFO perspective ”. This CFO Boardroom lunch was proudly sponsored by IBM Australia & M&C Saatchi.

Qantas is widely regarded as the world's leading long-distance airline and one of the strongest brands in Australia.

Ranked in the top 50 listed Australian companies by capitalisation, Qantas Group turnover was $13.8 billion in the 2010 financial year.

The Group’s integrated portfolio consists of the two major flying businesses of Qantas and Jetstar, and includes Qantas Frequent Flyer and Qantas Freight Enterprises. Qantas was ranked the seventh best airline in the world in 2010, while Jetstar is now the largest low cost carrier in Asia Pacific by revenue.

With a 90 year history, Qantas has a track record of corporate change, innovation and success. In the competitive aviation industry, however, the iconic Australian company can never take its future for granted.

Qantas Group Chief Financial Officer, Gareth Evans will outline the Qantas agenda and offer a CFO's perspective on securing the future of the iconic company.

His previous roles with Qantas covered a number of operational areas including the responsibility for the financial operations of the airline, commercial and business analytics and the implementation of major business change initiatives, scheduling of the international and domestic network, ticket pricing, revenue management and airline operations on the day as well as readiness activities for the arrival of the A380.
