Ann Sherry AO addressed a private boardroom lunch for 22 senior executives from our small & medium sized business members where she discussed “The 10 Things I Have Learned About The Cruise Business". This Executive Boardroom lunch was proudly sponsored by Avanade Australia.
Ann Sherry is CEO of Carnival Australia, the largest cruise ship operator in Australasia and a division of Carnival Corporation. Carnival is the world’s largest cruise ship operator and owner of the iconic brands P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises, Costa, Cunard, Holland America and Seabourn. Ann has transformed the industry and growth has more than doubled since 2007.
Nominated in 2009 as one of the Top 15 Women in Business in the World by the Business Women’s magazine, Pink. This was a special opportunity to engage with Ann and to hear about the business and success of cruising.
Ann has held a number of senior positions over a uniquely distinguished career including Chief Executive Officer, Westpac New Zealand; CEO of the Bank of Melbourne; First Assistant Secretary of the Office of the Status of Women in Canberra advising the Prime Minister and as Australia’s representative to the United Nations forums on human rights and women’s rights.
Ann’s non-executive positions include ING Direct (Australia), Director of Jawun – Indigenous Corporate Partnerships, Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF) and she is a Member of the Council of the Australian National Maritime Museum, the Australian Sports Commission and Deputy Chair of the Tourism & Transport Forum.
