John Fisher, International Tax Partner at KPMG Somekh Chaikin (Israel) and Elie Lederman, structured finance specialist addressed a private boardroom event for 20 senior business executives where they discussed Israel as an attractive investment destination.
John has had wide experience, over the last 30 years, in advising multinational clients in such areas as international holding structures, mergers and acquisitions, international sales and marketing strategies, IP location, financing structures and relocation.
In 2008, in the wake of increased immigration to Israel from western countries, John established an inbound practice in the firm to assist immigrants and private investors with their taxation issues.
In 2013, M&A deals for Israeli startups reached $US6.45 billion and 13 Israeli Venture Capital funds raised $US526 million. As an expert for tax issues for private investors into Israel, John was well placed to speak about where Israel’s economy is currently placed in the investment cycle, which sectors are providing opportunities for investors, and incentives that are available.
Following a successful career in financial markets at Bankers Trust, Elie has engaged in significant commercial and residential property developments in Australia and Israel. Elie shared some unique social inclusion projects in which Israel is involved.
