YOUNG BUSINESS FORUM RECEPTION
Dr Marco Berti, Lecturer in Management, UTS and Chris Brettel, Executive Manager Innovation, Lean & Change, Suncorp addressed a Young Business Forum reception with 50 business professionals on “Breaking Bad Habits: calibrating your business mindset to ‘live innovation’”.
The language of “Innovation” has become all pervasive amongst the business community. What does Innovation really mean, does it need to be disruptive, are there different ways to innovate and how does my business overcome barriers?
Marco and Chris “live innovation” – through a combination of Marco’s academic and consulting expertise, and Chris’s firsthand experience, this interactive session focused on the Suncorp case-study. As a start-up or as an established corporate, YOUR business should be discussing its approach to “living innovation”.
Marco enjoyed a 20 year, international career as a management consultant specialising in organisational development and strategy. Now as an academic, his interest lies in the field of organisational innovation and change, and he lead the discussion and Q&A.
Chris is accountable for the continuing progress of simplification across the business, focusing on innovative ways that remove cost and complexity. His team has been tasked with embedding the cultural mindset of Suncorp employees with a continuous improvement mentality. Suncorp Group is an ASX top 20 business.
We were privileged to have hosted this event in Australia's first building designed by Frank Gehry, The Dr Chau Chak Wing Building, one of the world's most famous architects. A technical feat in construction and an opportunity for a unique experience.
