Stephen Dunne, MD, AMP Capital & Chairman, Banking + Finance Oath, Sally Loane, CEO, Financial Services Council, Jennifer Westacott, Chief Executive, Business Council of Australia in conversation with Dr. Simon Longstaff AO, 3 Sept 2015

BUSINESS LUNCH

Stephen Dunne, Sally Loane and Jennifer Westacott in conversation with Dr. Simon Longstaff AO addressed a Business Lunch for over 100 senior business executives in an interactive panel discussion around the “Global Perspective on Business, Finance and Ethics”. This lunch was proudly sponsored by Optus.

Ethics and integrity matter to your bottom line. Ethical conduct is front and centre as corporations are increasingly exposed to the glare of public scrutiny. The functions of compliance, governance and social accountability put ethics into the daily vocabulary of mainstream management. These critical business issues, with a particular focus on the finance industry, were vigorously discussed followed by a Q&A session.

Stephen Dunne has a decorated 25 year career in investment management, both in Australia and internationally.  Stephen is a proactive contributor to the Banking + Finance Oath, an initiative to re-assert the ethical foundation of the industry beyond regulation and compliance, by broadening expectations and discussion to include ethics, integrity, honesty and trust.

Sally Loane has enjoyed an extensive career in the corporate sector, working at Coca-Cola Amatil from 2006-2014 as the Director of Media and Public Affairs. The Financial Services Council’s mission is to represent the interests of members (inc. investors and super funds), life insurance policy holders, users of financial advice and trustee services.

Jennifer Westacott has extensive policy experience in both the public and private sectors. The Business Council of Australia researches and promotes economic growth policies for the benefit of the nation and all Australians. For 20 years Jennifer occupied critical leadership positions in the NSW and Victorian governments.

Dr Simon Longstaff is one of the AFR Boss True Leaders for the 21st century and is Australia’s pre-eminent speaker on the role of ethics in our corporate, working lives. Simon’s roles at the Banking + Finance Oath and the Ethics Centre provide the ideal centrepiece for this relevant and timely conversation on the values that underpin our business principles.
