AICC KPMG IoT End of Year Briefing - Featuring findings from the Smart City Expo World Congress - Wednesday 30 November 2016

IoT provides the ability for businesses to transform to stay ahead in a competitive and constantly changing environment, and has been highlighted as one of the highest future growth industries in Australia with a forecast potential $120 billion annual uplift to the economy by 2025.

Since the start of the year, the  Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce in partnership with KPMG, set out to create a series of educational events under the IoT banner, and this event marks the fourth and final event for the year.

To hear the learnings from this month’s Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, the international summit that highlights the link between urban reality and technological revolution, plus discussion around the challenges and opportunities that Australia faces with particular focus on standards driving a secure and interoperable IoT.  We have put together a stellar panel of leaders including:

Piers Hogarth-Scott works with clients to unlock the transformative opportunity presented by IoT by drawing on KPMG’s deep industry, technology, policy and insights, to assist organisations with new markets, strategy and implementation, cyber security, data analytics, growth plans, economic models, tax compliance and more.

Catherine Caruana-McManus is an IoT and smart cities expert with over 25 years experience in the digital technology, IT, media, telecommunications, government and urban infrastructure sectors. Catherine is the founder of Giant Ideas, and a Director of Meshed - IoT integration and networks.

Frank Zeichner runs a Digital Technology Advisory, Creator Tech, and has been has been working in the telecommunications industry, in Australia and overseas, for the last 33 years. Frank is Executive Officer IoT Alliance Australia, business advisor to the Knowledge Economy Institute, at the University of Technology Sydney and a board member of Telsoc.

John Stanton is Chairman of the Executive Council of the IoT Alliance Australia (IoTAA) – a collaboration of more than 125 companies and stakeholders from academia, Government and the consumer sector, dedicated to harnessing the opportunities of the Internet of Things for the Australian economy. John is also the CEO of the Communications Alliance.
