Tony D'Aloisio, Chairman of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) delivered his keynote address on "The Implications of a Fast Changing Regulatory Framework" to an intimate gathering of senior business executives in Brisbane.
Tony D’Aloisio was appointed Chairman of ASIC, Australia’s corporate, markets and financial services regulator, in May 2007 having served as Commissioner since November 2006.
Prior to joining ASIC, Tony D’Aloisio was Managing Director and CEO of the Australian Securities Exchange and Chief Executive Partner at Mallesons Stephen Jaques. Tony has also held a number of other management positions including Director, Boral; Director, Business Council of Australia; Member, Board of Taxation and Director, World Federation of Stock Exchanges.
During his tenure at Mallesons Stephen Jaques, Tony was awarded Australian Law Awards Managing Partner of the Year in 2001 and 2002 and the Australian Government Centenary Medal in 2000 for services to law and taxation.
Tony is also Chairman of the Joint Forum, a prestigious body which operates under parent organisations, Basel Committee for Banking Supervision (BCBS), the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS).
