David Moult addressed a private boardroom event for 20 senior business executives where he discussed “Coal's role in the domestic electricity industry”. This CEO Boardroom lunch was proudly sponsored by Norton Rose.

Established in 1989 and listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in 1994, Centennial Coal is a coal mining and marketing company supplying thermal and coking coal to the domestic and export markets. The Company is a major fuel supplier to the New South Wales energy industry, fuelling approximately 46% of the State’s coal-fired electricity.

Upon the takeover by Banpu Public Company Limited (”Banpu”) in October 2010, their market capitalisation had grown to approximately $2.5 billion.

Centennial has approximately 1,700 employees and ten operating coal mines in NSW, making it one of the largest underground coal producers in NSW and now, as part of Banpu, a member of the largest independent pan-Asian coal group.

David Moult is Centennial Coal’s Managing Director & CEO with over 30 years world coal mining experience.

In January 1998, David joined Centennial Coal as the General Manager, Operations, and subsequently assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer before being appointed to his current position of Managing Director & CEO in July 2011.
