Dr Simon Longstaff, Executive Director, St James Ethics Centre, 23 February 2010


Dr Simon Longstaff addressed a CEO boardroom event of 20 senior business executives where he discussed " Metastrategy – Seeing the Tigers in the room ". This CEO boardroom event was generously hosted by Fairfax Media.

Dr Simon Longstaff, Executive Director, St James Ethics Centre, shared with us how to build a metastrategy – an enhanced prism through which to view the business holistically.

Established in 1989, St James Ethics Centre is a fully independent not-for-profit organisation which provides a non-judgmental forum for the promotion and exploration of ethics.

Simon encourages the process of integrating ethical considerations into the strategic thinking of the management community and those who advise and regulate them.

Simon was inaugural President of The Australian Association for Professional & Applied Ethics and is a Director of a number of companies. He is a Fellow of the World Economic Forum and a member of its Global Agenda Council. Simon serves on a number of committees, some of which include: AMP Capital Socially Responsible Investment Advisory Committee, Member; BHP Billiton, Global Ethics Panel, Independent Member; and Westpac Customer Committee, Chairman.

Business uses the services of the St James Ethics Centre to drive internal staff and board development. As a tax-deductible charity, the Centre is a vital part of CSR and one’s competitive advantage.
