Matthew Quinn, Managing Director, Stockland & The Hon. Mark Birrell, Chairman, Infrastructure Partnerships Australia addressed 400 business executives at a Chamber Business Lunch  moderated by Carson Scott, Sky Business News on the topic "Infrastructure - Australia's Future?" 

As a nation stepping into the 21st Century, it is critical that we build appropriate infrastructure to sustain national economic growth and social development in the decades ahead.

Issues addressed include planning reform, infrastructure financing, population growth, growth and functionality of our cities, housing affordability, implications of our ageing population, impact of climate change, effective transport, and broadband.

Matthew Quinn joined Stockland in 1999, was appointed Managing Director in October 2000, and has an extensive background in commercial, retail, industrial and residential property investment and development. Stockland is one of Australia's largest and most diversified property investment and development groups - a top 50 ASX company with a market cap of greater than $11 billion. Since his appointment, Stockland has quadrupled its market capitalisation and employees.

Hon. Mark Birrell is Chairman of the peak industry organisation, Infrastructure Partnerships Australia, and was appointed in 2009 to the statutory board of Infrastructure Australia by the Rudd Government. Mark is the national leader of the infrastructure group at Minter Ellison Lawyers, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Australia Post and Chairman of Evans & Peck Limited.
