Michael Cameron addressed a private boardroom event for 20 senior business executives where he discussed "Reinvigorating GPT". This CEO Boardroom lunch was proudly sponsored by Norton Rose and ANZ.
The GPT Group is an active owner and manager of $9.8 billion diversified portfolio of quality Australian retail, office and industrial property assets. The Group owns, and has created, some of Australia’s most iconic real estate assets, including the MLC Centre, Australia Square, Rouse Hill Town Centre and Melbourne Central.
GPT is listed on the ASX and with a market capitalisation of approximately $5.8 billion, is in the top 50 ASX listed companies.
The listed property trusts went through a very rough time during the global financial crisis. Under Michael Cameron’s leadership, GPT has returned to strength, stability and earnings growth. Michael discussed what has changed at GPT and how GPT see the Australian property market in 2011 and beyond.
Michael Cameron joined The GPT Group as CEO and Managing Director in May 2009 and has over 30 years experience in Finance and Business. Michael was previously CFO at St George Bank Limited, Group Chief Accountant, Lend Lease; Chief Financial Controller, MLC Limited; Chief Operating Officer of the NAB Wealth Management Division; Group Chief Financial Officer, Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Group Executive of the Retail Bank Division, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, leading a team of 20,000 staff servicing eight million customers.
