The Hon. Matthew Mason-Cox, Minister for Fair Trading NSW, 18 March 2015

The Hon. Matthew Mason-Cox, Minister for Fair Trading NSW addressed a private boardroom event for 20 business executives where guests engaged the Minister in a discussion around; “Fair & Ethical Business Practice in NSW”. This SME Executive Boardroom lunch was proudly hosted and sponsored Commonwealth Bank.

NSW Fair Trading safeguards the rights of all consumers and regulates business and traders.

Matthew Mason-Cox has been the Minister charged with this fundamentally important portfolio since May 2014. The rules that govern unfair practices and product safety in the countless daily transactions between consumers and traders are key to Matthew’s work.

We were fortunate to have the opportunity to hear Matthew give his vision for consumer issues that affect our daily lives, as the Baird government plans to move into a second term.

Matthew also leads the Liberal Party of Australia in the Legislative Council and previously served for three years as Parliamentary Secretary for Treasury and Finance. He holds both Law and Finance degrees from UNSW.

Prior to entering Parliament, Matthew worked at Freehills, as Corporate Counsel at Elders and as a Director of the Commonwealth Office of Asset Sales.

Matthew has also run his own businesses and has been involved in the development of commercial and residential buildings in NSW.
