Simon McKeon AO, Chairman, AMP Limited addressed a private Boardroom lunch for 40 senior business executives in an interactive discussion around “Australia & Israel: A perspective on technology in business”.This lunch was proudly sponsored by the KPMG and MarkLogic Pty Ltd.

Simon recently led a Trade Mission to Israel which focused on Israel’s entrepreneurial culture and unique innovative ecosystem.

Israel - despite its ongoing challenges, manages to punch above its weight and demonstrates world excellence and leadership in innovation, entrepreneurship, technology, science and other key areas that affect the global economy.

Per capita, Israel has the largest number of start-up companies in the world. It is ranked #2 in the world for venture capital funds behind the U.S. Israel has more NASDAQ listed companies than any other country, besides the U.S. and China. It has the world's 3rd highest rate of entrepreneurship -the highest rate among women and among people over 55. Relative to its size, Israel is the largest immigrant absorbing nation on Earth and Israel's scientific research institutions are ranked 3rd in the world.

Simon shared with the audience some of his learnings’ and observations from the visit, including how Australia can adopt some of those practices and bring them back home – both as a nation and as individuals.
