BOARDROOM BRIEFING

David Gonski AC, Chairman ANZ Bank & Coca-Cola Amatil addressed a Boardroom Briefing for 40 senior business executives in which David spoke about his recently published book “I Gave a Gonski: Selected Speeches” printed by Penguin Books.

In this collection of speeches, he writes about the issues he feels passionately about - everything from the importance of philanthropy to why we need more women on boards, from what makes a good company director to why better education funding is of such critical importance to our nation.

He also provided some deeply personal insights into the man behind the name, writing for the first time of his family heritage, his parents' migration from South Africa and his reflections on turning sixty.

David is also Chancellor of the University of New South Wales, Chairman of the Sydney Theatre Company and the UNSW Foundation Ltd. He is also a member of the ASIC External Advisory Panel and the board of the Lowy Institute for International Policy and is a Patron of the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation and Raise Foundation.

He was previously a member of the Takeovers Panel, President of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Director of Singapore Airlines Limited, the Westfield Group and Singapore Telecommunications Limited, Chairman of the Australian Securities Exchange Ltd, the Guardians of the Future Fund, the Australia Council for the Arts, the Board of Trustees of Sydney Grammar School and Investec Bank (Australia) Ltd.
