Luc Hennekens, Chief Information Officer, Qantas addressed a private CEO Boardroom Lunch for 22 senior business executives in an interactive discussion around ‘Expanding the Horizons of Technology at the Qantas Group”. This lunch was proudly sponsored by The Star Entertainment Group and Lexus of Chatswood/McCarroll Automotive Group.

Founded in regional Queensland in 1920 – as Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services – Qantas is one of Australia’s most iconic brands and has played a central role in the development of the Australian and international aviation industry.  It is ranked the world’s safest airline by, one of the top 10 airlines in the world by Skytrax, and holds many major awards for service, food and wine, technology and innovation.

Today the Qantas Group - which also includes Qantas Loyalty and Jetstar - is a diverse global aviation business, carrying 50 million passengers each year and employing around 30,000 people.

Luc Hennekens joined Qantas in January 2013 as Chief Technology Officer, responsible for the airline’s technology strategy and the IT Centres of Excellence. He was appointed Chef Information Officer in September 2013.

Prior to his role with Qantas, Luc held the position of Chief Information Officer with New Zealand’s largest listed energy company. Prior to that he held a number of senior roles in technology in the USA, Latin America, Europe and Asia with Procter & Gamble and Hewlett-Packard.
